Leaving the Mountain with Hairs Turned Grey
Hongren (601 - 675, Tang Dynasty)
English translation: Cindy Choi
Leaving the mountain with hairs turned grey,
Returning after seven years with a changed old face;
Though youthful in age, the pine tree is already old,
Henceforth, right and wrong will linger in this world.
