For Provincial Govenor Wei Dan at Donglin Temple
Lingche (Years unknown, Tang Dynasty)
English translation: Miao Guang
An old but leisurely heart, free of worldly trouble,
A linen robe and straw mat suffice to let me be;
So they claim to envy the life of a retired rank,
Yet, deep in the forests, have they ever been?
── from Quan Tang Shi (Complete Collection of Tang Poems)
