奮勉如寶
了參 譯 ( 1916~1985 )
奮勉常正念,淨行能克己;
如法而生活,無逸善名增。
奮勉不放逸,克己自調御;
智者自作洲,不為洪水沒。
暗鈍愚癡人,耽溺於放逸;
智者不放逸,如富人護寶。

Effort Is Like a Treasure
Translated into Chinese by Liaocan (1916 - 1985)
English translation: Zhi Yue
Those who make effort, are mindful, pure in conduct,
self-disciplined, and live in accordance to the Dharma,
have ever-increasing glory.
Through effort, heedfulness, and self-discipline, the
wise make a continent for themselves that cannot be
submerged by flood.
The foolish and ignorant indulge in heedlessness, while
the wise guards his heedfulness as if protecting a gem.
